West End star Emma Hatton set to release new music

Emma Hatton will release her second EP this month, titled ‘Thirty Three and a Third’.

The actress and singer is best known for her leading roles in the West End’s ‘Wicked’, ‘Evita’ and ‘We Will Rock You’. Off stage, the all-round performer is excited to be working on jazz again:

“I absolutely love Musical Theatre but it is no secret that jazz and blues are also a huge part of my life. If I can encourage my theatre fans to give jazz and blues a listen, or those who know me from the jazz world to come and see a musical then it’s a win, win situation.”

Emma’s first EP, ‘Merry Christmas, Darling’ was recorded alongside Anthony Strong. The pair went straight to the top of the iTunes jazz charts in 2015.

Three years later and Emma’s much-awaited second EP will launch on 11 October 2018. The date is a special anniversary for Emma. It would have been her grandad, Bill Hatton's, 100th birthday. Emma has dedicated the EP to Bill who was a jazz trumpeter:

“I carry my grandad with me in everything I do and I know he would love this record.”

The EP will feature four new songs including a duet with Anthony Strong of a song made famous by Michael Jackson and Siedah Garrett.

Emma is set to be back in the West End this winter for ‘The Distance You Have Come’. In concert, she will return to Post Modern Jukebox followed by an appearance alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Emma graduated with a degree in English and Physical Education & Sports Science in 2004.

Let’s hope the new album defies gravity to reach the top of the charts!
