Graduate business finds success in the global tech industry
Stephen Fung, Product Design and Manufacturing (2004) alumnus, became co-founder of NFC Touch in 2015.
Near Field Communication (NFC) is an ever-growing field of technology and Hong Kong is a vibrant place with many opportunities for entrepreneurship. Stephen skilfully married the two, and invested a total of half a million Hong Kong dollars into launching the business.
Today, NFC Touch has over 300 clients who seek solutions for wireless data transfer. Stephen and his team are able to offer technology that detects when a non-electrical product is in close proximity, and enables the two to communicate without the need for an internet connection.
A prime example of this is the tap-and-go card payment system which is commonly used in the marketplace. Stephen’s ambition is to roll this concept out across different industries.
Stephen always had a natural flare for product design and technology but attributes most of his success to his UK studies, claiming “I am very glad that the 3 years in Loughborough has helped transform me to the person I am today”.
We wish Stephen and his team the very best of luck for the future of NFC Touch.
