Civil Engineering alumnus becomes a recognised water engineer in Texas
Alumnus, Jorge A. Arroyo, has gained a new position at Freese and Nichols, a professional consulting firm based in Austin, Texas.
Jorge, who is a board member of the Texas Desalination Association, has extensive experience in water planning and management. He also has excellent knowledge of innovative water technologies. With a career history spanning the globe, he joins the team as an international authority.
Kendall King, a Freese and Nichols Vice President in Austin views Jorge as “an accelerant” for what the firm is striving to achieve.
Freese and Nichols’ past projects include the Colorado River Municipal Water District’s Raw Water Production Facility in Big Spring. It was the first potable reuse facility in North America to blend reclaimed water directly into a raw water distribution pipeline.
Jorge joins the firm in time to tackle their next project which is in Corpus Christi to build the first seawater desalination plant undertaken by a Texas City.
David Jackson, Freese and Nichols’ Treatment Practice Leader and Vice President shares King’s enthusiasm, claiming “Jorge is a truly outstanding technical resource, but he is also a fantastic fit with our culture of prioritizing client service”.
Jorge graduated from Loughborough University in 1984 with an MSc in Construction.
