Alumnus crowdfunds for new film production

Film writer, director and alumnus Louis Chan, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for his upcoming short production, “Stationary”.

This drama is set in a parked car and the narrative follows two friends, Jimmy and Che who get caught up in a scandal.

“Stationary” has attracted a star-studded crew and a recognisable cast including Aaron Thomas Ward from BBC’s Call the Midwife and National Theatre regular Rebekah Murrell from Nine Night. Xavien Russell also features in the film. He was in two seasons of Channel 4’s award winning Top Boy and Watchmen.

The London based film maker began his career by making mini documentaries for research and branding agencies before founding a production company, Fresh Look Films, in 2014 with fellow Loughborough alumnus, Kobbie Kessie. Their company has grown significantly and to date, some of their high-profile clients include Unilever, Neutrogena and Microsoft.

Louis graduated from Loughborough University in 2013 with a BA in English with a minor in North American Literature and Film. Kobbie achieved a BA in Graphic Communication in 2012.
