Alumnus and Malaysian Olympic Athlete chairs Singapore Graduation Ceremony

On 8 September 2018, the School of Business and Economics celebrated the graduation of students who have studied part-time with the PSB Academy, Singapore.

Alumnus, Canagasabai Kunalan, was the keynote speaker and graduated from Loughborough University in 1988 with an MSc in Physical Education and Sports Science. Canagasabai was a National Athlete and represented Malaysia at the Olympic Games in 1964 and 1968. It was here he set a Singapore National Record for the 100m, which stood for 33 years.

Loughborough University has a close partnership with the PSB Academy and hold an annual ceremony in Singapore to award BSc degrees in Business Studies, Banking and Finance, and Human Resources.

The 2018 ceremony was held at Chijmes Hall, a heritage building in the central district of Singapore which was once a convent and orphanage. Canagasabai was proud to celebrate this special event.

Family and friends of the new graduates gathered together with Dr Sam Choon Mun, Dean of the School of Business and Management at PSB Academy and Ian Herbet, Programme Director at Loughborough University. Members of the teaching faculty from both Singapore and the UK were also in attendance.

The event was supported by the Singapore alumni group, who shared their alumni activities with the event attendees.
