Alumni working together to build a new community centre in Charnwood
Paul Gadd and Joanne Lipman are working together on the Grange Park Centre project to bring a new community centre to the Shelthorpe Ward of Loughborough.
Aiming to develop community relations in the area, the alumni have been working on the project for several years through fundraising, planning and execution.
Planning permission was granted in January this year, along with support from a Big Lottery grant.
The project board meet regularly to progress plans and they aim to open the centre in 2019. Paul is the Chair of the project group, and Joanne holds the role of Secretary.
The community centre will provide a new space for residents of Loughborough to engage in youth clubs, parent and toddler groups, fitness, gardening and other activities. A great opportunity for local residents to meet up or to host a party in the community, the centre will provide residents in the local area with a space to call their own.
Paul Gadd graduated with a degree in Computing in 1996. Joanne Lipman (nee Allen) is a 2001 Management Sciences graduate.
If you are interested in getting involved with the project, you can find out more online.
We wish them the best of luck.
