Alumna publishes second novel

Sally Jenkins (née Mumby) has recently released ‘The Promise’, a psychological thriller.

The book follows ex-criminal Tina, who is forced to call in a promise made to her thirty years ago in a prison cell.

Author Sally tells of how the novel explores the lengths to which people are prepared to go in order to protect those they love.

She comments:

“We can never fully escape our past. I like delving into the darker side of life – people hide secrets, and I like to imagine what they are.”

Sally, who graduated from Loughborough with a degree in Economics in 1984, spends half of her time in her IT day-job and the other half as an author working on her novels.

‘The Promise’ mentions Loughborough when one of the characters visits the University for an open day.
