Alumna lands lead role in infamous play

Alumna Charis King has landed the lead role in a worldwide tour of Romeo and Juliet.

Charis will play Juliet in TNT Theatre’s production of William Shakespeare’s famous work, touring from October 2018 until June 2019.

The alumna has previously worked as an actress, writer and comedian across film, theatre and radio. Her recent work includes writing and performing for BBC Radio Kent’s weekly comedy ‘Steve ‘n’ Allen Show’. She has also performed as her comedy character ‘Granny Claris’ since 2015 at the same radio station.

Drama lecturer and playwright, Carolyn Scott-Jeffs, said:

"I'm delighted to see that Charis is achieving the success she deserves. She was an excellent student who was talented, hardworking and perceptive. I'm sure her career will go from strength to strength."

Charis graduated with a degree in Drama in 2013.
