Alumna collaborates with international brand Weleda in the lead up to Christmas
Decorative glass designer, Emma Britton, was commissioned by Weleda on a new range of packaging designs for their 2018 collection, Gifted from Nature.
As part of the commission, Emma has worked in ‘The Field’, a 13-acre garden in Derbyshire where Weleda harvest plants for use in their natural skincare products.
The patterned packaging designs take inspiration from the beauty of nature found in ‘The Field’, playing to Emma’s painterly strengths and experience in working with flora and fauna subjects.
Emma set up her business in 2010, creating bespoke kitchen splashbacks and other accessories. The award-winning splashbacks feature bold and bright floral subjects. Weleda’s managing Director, Jayn Sterland, spotted Emma’s work at the Chatsworth RHS and said she was “bowled over” by Emma’s paintings – and so the collaboration was born.
The new range of gift sets will be available nationwide in Boots, Waitrose and Holland & Barrett.
Emma graduated from Loughborough with a degree in Printed Textiles in 2008.
