Ore Oduba lifts the infamous Strictly glitter ball trophy
Following a fantastic series of Strictly Come Dancing 2016 alumnus and sports broadcaster Ore Oduba has lifted the coveted Strictly glitter ball trophy!
Ore and dance partner Joanne have topped the judge’s Strictly table on several occasions. Gaining the first 10s of the series and great scores throughout the competition, this weekend the pair donned their dancing shoes for one final time this series.
The judges’ choice for the couple was an elegant American Smooth. Scoring a total of 39 from the judges, this gave the couple a great standing on the leader board, in first place.
Performing their show dance Ore and Joanne danced to “I Got Rhythm” scoring the first 40 of the Strictly final. Fantastic showdances from all couples showed how much they have progressed throughout the competition.
With the chance to take on one of their best dances again in the final, Ore and Joanne chose the Jive, dancing to “Runaway Baby” by Bruno Mars. A fun and bouncy Latin favourite of theirs and a dance from way back in week four, it was a pleasure to see the performance yet again. Having received a striking 39 points the first time, their 40 points did them huge justice the second time around. What a performance!
With a tense lead-up to the results and with emotions running high, Ore and Joanne lifted the trophy, becoming series 14 winners of Strictly Come Dancing.
We would like to congratulate Ore and Joanne on behalf of the Loughborough Family for fabulous Saturday night entertainment, great quality dancing and true winning spirit throughout.
