Loughborough honorary graduate awarded Outstanding Scientist award
Loughborough honorary graduate Professor Shige Peng has been awarded the Qui Shi Outstanding Scientist award.
The awards, which were first established in 1994, have been presented to more than 248 outstanding Chinese scientists representing the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and more.
As part of the award, Professor Shige Peng has been presented with a one million Chinese Yuan prize.
Professor Shige Peng is a mathematician noted for his contributions to mathematical finance. He studied in the Department of Physics, Shandong University from 1971 to 1974 and went onto obtain a PHD in 1985.
He received his honorary degree from Loughborough University in 2011.
