Alumni and Co-Founders of Sonobex win Innovation Award
Sonobex, an alumni founded company, has been awarded this year’s Noise Abatement Society’s John Connell Innovation Award.
Dr Daniel Elford and Dr Luke Chalmers both hold PhD’s in Engineering Physics from the University. They have since gone on to work within acoustics and are co-founders at Sonobex.
Sonobex specialises in noise control. Their technology works to counteract the sound waves that affect quality of life and the environment. The company works with a range of industries including transport, power and energy, industrial engineering and construction.
The John Connell Innovation Award works to encourage the development of innovative noise reduction schemes. Sonobex received the award, sponsored by the Institution of Acoustics, at The Noise Abatement Society’s 2016 John Connell Awards Ceremony on 2 November. The ceremony was held at the Palace of Westminster and was hosted by Bob Neill, MP for Bromley and Chislehurst.
Congratulations to Daniel and Luke who received the award on the evening. More details about the award can be found on the Sonobex website.
