Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR

The population of Loughborough alumni across mainland China and Hong Kong SAR make up one of our largest international groups. We have several groups of alumni across different regions. They are very sociable and hold well-attended regional gatherings.

Mainland China has several established groups who communicate primarily through WeChat; a Chinese social media messaging service. There are many different Loughborough University WeChat groups in existence to cover academic schools and regions. The University also has a Weibo account which is managed by the Global Engagement team.

In Hong Kong SAR, a well-established group of alumni meet on a monthly basis. There is a Facebook group which is dedicated to sharing the latest university news and upcoming events. The group is welcoming of new members and keen to develop their social and professional networks.

As part of our new International Alumni Ambassador scheme, we expect to share details of further events and activities in a range of locations soon.

Getting involved

Our alumni often welcome University staff to mainland China and Hong Kong SAR, who host dinners and receptions. Academics travel to strengthen industry links and to raise the profile of the University.

Members of our Global Engagement team occasionally travel to support student recruitment events and to hold pre-departure briefings.

Get in touch for more information on connecting with fellow Loughborough alumni and to find out about joining one of our WeChat groups.
