Loughborough Alumni

Guy Broadbent

Chemistry and Polymer Science/Technology, 1986

Guy brings over 30 years of experience in specialty materials and life science technologies to the Board. He is particularly keen to explore how the number of industrial placements or internships available to Loughborough students can be increased in the US.

Guy a significant investor in, and Executive Chair of Aquapak Polymers, a Birmingham based company with a revolutionary material that has a positive impact on the environmental challenges created by traditional polymers. He also holds several board positions at successful private equity and venture backed companies including Thrive Bioscience, Advanced Instruments, Aurora Plastics, and Paragon Films.

Over the past few years, Guy, who lives in Boston USA, has been actively involved with Loughborough’s Start Up Fund, supporting student businesses.

Guy has kindly provided Development Trust Scholarships so that the University can help students who require financial support. He feels this is just one way of helping others to benefit from the “Loughborough Experience”.

Guy is a key advocate for the University in the USA. He is keen to encourage fellow US based alumni to support the Start Up Fund and find ways to increase the number of industrial placements and internships available to Loughborough students in the USA.

Guy started his three-year term on the AAB on 1 September 2018.
