Why did you choose Loughborough University?
I chose Loughborough because it was the best university for my course. The campus was particularly attractive and it had excellent facilities.
What do you enjoy about your course?
I enjoy the wide range of modules that can lead to several different career pathways. You’re also able to get involved with lab experiments and achieve coaching qualifications, which is something different and exciting you can do as part of your course. My favourite module has been the Teaching and Coaching module; it is fun and engaging, especially during the practicals.
What do you think of the teaching quality and support?
The teaching quality and facilities are all excellent. We are given a personal tutor who is there when we need them, as well as all the course leaders and student committee.
Have you done any relevant work experience?
I have done work experience at Loughborough Grammar School throughout the semester and have gained a true understanding of what it means to be a PE teacher, motivating me to pursue this career path by choosing the corresponding modules Loughborough offers.
What do you hope to do when you graduate?
I want to become a PE teacher. My degree will support this by giving me the breadth of knowledge needed to teach at any level.
What would you say to someone considering your course?
Loughborough is the best university in the country for Sport Science and that is something that comes through in the teaching, the modules and the experience you gain from it.
What do you enjoy about being a student here?
I enjoy being part of such an inspiring community of people who all really support and motivate you to strive for excellence. I play badminton and it’s really great being part of a sports team. There are a variety of clubs that cater for all abilities and levels.
Has Loughborough inspired you?
It has inspired me greatly to never give up on my dreams like so many amazing sportsmen that have been here before me.
