The School
The School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences is dedicated to the study of the psychological, social, and biological sciences with particular reference to sport, exercise, education and health.

Teaching
Through excellence in teaching, the School offers students the opportunity to develop a multi-disciplinary understanding of sport, exercise, education, health and well-being across the lifespan and to specialise in specific discipline areas.
The School offers five single honours degree programmes in Human Biology, Psychology, Sport and Exercise Science, Sport Management, and Sports Science with Management, as well as a choice of six joint honours programmes. The latter give students the unique opportunity to follow a combination of subject areas delivered by two departments and include a choice of studying Sports Science with Chemistry, English, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, or Geography and Sport Management.
Research
The School pursues research of international standing in the psychological, social and biological sciences, both within disciplines and across disciplines with applications to sport, exercise and health.
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) the School achieved outstanding results across disciplines with the general field of Sports-related Studies assessed as the best in the UK.
