The School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences is dedicated to the study of the psychological, social, and biological sciences with particular reference to sport, exercise, education and health. The academic expertise of our internationally-renowned staff informs teaching across all degree courses.
Through excellence in teaching, the School offers students the opportunity to develop a multi-disciplinary understanding of sport, exercise, education, health and well-being across the lifespan and to specialise in specific discipline areas.
The School offers five single honours degree courses in Human Biology, Psychology, Sport and Exercise Science, Sport Management, and Sports Science with Management, as well as contributing to six joint honours courses. The latter give students the unique opportunity to follow a combination of subject areas delivered by two Schools and include a choice of studying Sports Science with Chemistry, English, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, or Geography and Sport Management.
Outstanding results were achieved in the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008), which assessed Loughborough as the best in the UK for sports-related studies and commended the School's world-leading research.
The School pursues research of international standing in the psychological, social and biological sciences, both within and across disciplines, with applications to sport, exercise and health.
