Our Art and Design Foundation Studies course leads to a BTEC qualification, satisfying the entrance requirements for progression to undergraduate courses in Art and Design.

Loughborough’s Art and Design Foundation is a fast paced, fun and creative course that encourages you to develop your artistic ability. You will learn a broad range of skills before tailoring the course to what you enjoy and eventually choosing the specialist undergraduate course best suited to you.

Our Art and Design foundation studies course leads to a BTEC qualification, satisfying the entrance requirements for progression to undergraduate courses in Art and Design.

Our students enjoy successful progression each year to the broadest range of art and design undergraduate degree courses nationwide and internationally.

Entry Requirements

  • 5 GCSE passes at minimum Grade C, including English
  • 2 A-Level passes at grade C minimum, or equivalent (excluding General Studies)
  • A portfolio of recent art work
  • For students aged 18 or under on the 31st August in the year of entry, it is a requirement of the EFA funding that any student who does not have GCSE maths at grade C or above will be expected to study for this qualification in parallel to the Foundation Course. Courses are available online or via local Colleges.
