Inside STEMLab

Physical Sciences Laboratory

The Physical Sciences Lab complements the Physics and Optics Lab, and lends itself to the enquiry of the scientific principles underpinning modern physics. It is also suitable for use across the physical sciences on a range of degree programmes.

A range of benchtop equipment is available in this room, including experiments allowing students to explore the fundamentals of mechanics, electricity and magnetism, quantum phenomena, waves, solid state and thermal physics. The room layout includes breakout tables ideally suited to explaining experiments and providing tutorials in small groups, in addition to the laboratory benches.

The Physical Sciences Laboratory is set within a 181/m2 space, with a max capacity of 64 people.
