Engineering Machine Workshop

The Engineering Machine workshop contains clusters of equipment used for the machining of finished components. Students will initially be taught the techniques required to safely use the equipment and develop their practical skills, allowing for more individual access in the later years of their degree enabling students to get involved in designing and manufacturing their own engineering designs. This is particularly valuable for ‘drop in’ access when students are completing project work, especially in the later years of their degree programmes.

The equipment contained in the workshop includes student lathes, milling machines, and the latest CNC technologies. Emphasis is being placed on ensuring there are synergies with existing facilities on the campus, such that students trained on equipment will be able to use it in multiple locations in order to allow greater access to facilities in both formal classes and project work.

The Engineering Machiene workshop is set within a 221/m2 space, with a max capacity of 73 people.
