Inside STEMLab

Bioscience and Bioengineering Laboratory

STEMLab includes a suite of laboratories for practical work in the Bio-Sciences and Bio-Engineering. Bio-Engineering is a cutting edge, multi-disciplinary field that applies engineering and technology principles to biological and medical problems. Loughborough has significant expertise across campus in engineering, health, sports science and regenerative medicine, and STEMLab will facilitate delivery of new and enhanced degree programmes. The Bio- Laboratory provides students with opportunities to gain applied experience with biological samples in a safe and state-of-the-art environment. The maximum laboratory capacity is 96, although will be reduced when specific types of biological samples are being used in the room.

The Bioscience and Bioengineering Laboratory includes small numbers of biosafety cabinets and fume cupboards, with spaces for fridges, freezers and incubators. There is also space on the benches to house instruments for the analysis of a range of biological specimens.

The Bioscience and Bioengineering Laboratory is set within a 320/m2 space, with a max capacity of 96 people.
