STEM Community Day 2018

Join us for an afternoon of fun and informal activities and demonstrations relating to the University's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) subjects!

There is something for everyone at our STEM Community Day with activities and timed workshops linked to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths subject areas.

The event aims to inspire all ages: from budding astrophysicists and mathematicians, to those with with a wild imagination and a thirst for trying new things.

Activities include:

  • Electrodough
  • Smoothie Bike
  • Solar cars
  • Walking on custard
  • Book folding
  • Tornado tubes
  • Human sized bubbles
  • NAO Robots

Timed workshops include:

  • Liquid Nitrogen ice-cream (TBC)
  • River detectives
  • Chemical luminescence
  • Biomechanics demonstrations
  • Virtual Reality
