Creative Community Day 2017

Join us for an afternoon of fun and informal, creative activities, demonstrations and workshops to celebrate the creativity that happens here on campus!

There is something for everyone at our Creative Community Day with activities and timed workshops linked to creative subject areas, including Art, Design, Drama and English.

The event aims to inspire all ages: from budding artists and writers, to those who would like a more in-depth understanding of the creativity that is harnessed here on campus.

Actitivies include:

  • Arts and crafts;
  • Campus art trails;
  • Large paper murals;
  • Facepainting;
  • Chalk drawing;
  • Live music;
  • Halloween masks;
  • Book swaps;
  • Literary quizzes;
  • And a poetry competition for the chance to win prizes!

Timed workshops include:

  • Creative Writing workshops;
  • 'How to Edit Early-Modern Texts';
  • 'Creating Calm' (making glitter jars);
  • New Technologies in Jewellery-Making;
  • 'Man vs Machine' (computer-aided text);

We recommend registering in advance if you intend to visit us. This will allow you quicker entry to the event on the day, as well the opportunity to reserve spaces on workshops that have a limited capacity.
