Are you interested in globalisation and the contemporary changes in the world economy? The rise in economic and political power of the BRIC countries and other emerging market economies? Or the implications these developments have for multinational corporations investing in, or emerging from, these countries?
The Institute for International Management at Loughborough University London is offering two PhD studentships for promising students interested in a broad range of areas relating to international management.
The Institute incorporates a fast-growing interdisciplinary team of academics with an interest in the areas of international business and comparative management, with a focus on developing countries and multinational companies.
The Institute is engaged in current research projects which investigate:
- The internationalisation of firms
- Comparative Human Resource Management (HRM)
- Comparative and international Corporate Governance
- Political activities of firms in Emerging markets
The Institute welcomes applications from high-achieving students with an MSc in any area of the social sciences and a passion for research in one or more of the topics mentioned above. The Institute is linked to the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough, which is among just 1% of business schools in the world to hold AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accreditation.
To apply for a studentship with the Institute for International Management at Loughborough University London, you must have a minimum of an upper class honours degree (2:1) or equivalent overseas qualification in the social sciences. A relevant MSc in the social sciences is extremely desirable.
All students must also meet the minimum English Language requirements.
Fees and funding
Tuition fees cover the cost of your teaching, assessment and operating University facilities such as the library, IT equipment and other support services. University fees and charges can be paid in advance and there are several methods of payment, including online payments and payment by instalment. Special arrangements are made for payments by part-time students.
The studentships include a full tuition fee waiver, plus a tax free stipend of £16,553 per annum for the duration of the studentship (UK/EU applicants only). Successful International (non EU) applicants will receive a full tuition fee waiver only. The funding will cover the cost of registration, doctoral training and access to facilities such as the campus library, IT equipment, dedicated PhD research hub and other research support services.
