World-class sporting facilities

Located at the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Loughborough University London is surrounded by some of the world's finest sporting venues, which are available to Loughborough University London students at a discounted rate.

The Copper Box Arena

Just a five-minute walk away from campus, the Copper Box Arena in a multi-purpose venue. It has an 80-station gym, two exercise-class studios and hosts major sports, entertainment, music and community events, with seating for up to 7,500 spectators.
 
The Arena is also the new home to the London Lions basketball team. Whether you’re visiting the gym or enjoying a concert, there’s plenty to get involved in. Casual gym use ranges from £3 to £10 per visit and memberships are available on a monthly or yearly basis.
 

London Aquatics Centre

With its wave-like room, the London Aquatics Centre is one of the best-known sports venues of the London 2012 Games. It has three separate pools for competition, training and diving. Each is open to swimmers of all abilities, from beginners to Olympic hopefuls, so you can enjoy swimming in the same pool as Olympians and Paralympians.
 
The venue provides you with stunning views of the Park’s iconic landmarks, including the UK’s tallest sculpture, 115m ArcelorMittal Orbit. Prices start at £4 for a swim in the pool; swimming and diving lessons and courses are also available and can be booked online.
 

Lee Valley Velopark

Formerly known as the Olympic Velodrome, the Velopark has four cycling options for you to explore. You can choose from cycling the track in the iconic Velodrome, race on the new one-mile road circuit, tackle the 8km mountain bike trails, or try out the remodelled Olympic BMX track.
 
You can pre-book your visit for an introductory session, or just visit the venue and watch the action as a spectator. Prices are varied depending on your option – taster sessions and skills sessions are on offer plus much more.
 

Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre

The Hockey and Tennis Centre offers 10 tennis courts and two hockey pitches. Programmes are available for those who want to learn or improve their skills. You can either book ahead or simply turn up to use the courts.
 
The venue has hosted a number of major events including the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters and the European Hockey Championships in 2015. Tennis court hire for an hour starts at £8 per hour; beginners express tennis lessons can also be booked for six sessions from £40 per person. There are various price plans available depending on the activity.
 

London Stadium

The Park’s most iconic building, formally known as the Olympic Stadium, is now one of the world’s best sports and live music event venues. In 2015 it hosted several matches as part of the Rugby World Cup and in 2017 it hosted the IAAF World Championships.
 
It is now the UK's national competition venue for athletics and the new home of West Ham United Football Club.
