Information Management and Business Technology MSc/Diploma/Certificate
1 year full-time (Diploma 9 months, Certificate 1 Semester) up to 5 years (Diploma 3 years) part-time
The programme aims to produce graduates who have acquired:
- An awareness of the role and significance of both being an information technology specialist and a business generalist
- The learning and leadership skills needed for further professional development
- An understanding of the professional, managerial and technical dimensions of information management and business technology
- The core skills required to obtain a first professional post in the sector and
- The learning skills needed to attain further professional development
All modules are compulsory

- Supporting Collaborative Work through Technology
Semester 2
- Management of IT Systems
- Information and Social Network Analysis
- Information Management and Semantic Technology
- Information Systems and Modelling
- Dissertation
Assessment
MSc: coursework and dissertation, Diploma and Certificate: coursework. The Dissertation involves supervised, but self-directed, study.
Entry Qualifications*
Minimum lower second class honours degree or equivalent, preferably in a business or information technology-related subject, and approximately 1 year’s relevant work experience. Applicants must meet the Department of Information Science’s minimum English Language requirements.
Careers and Further Study
The programme has been developed with industry to provide graduates with hybrid information management and business technology knowledge and experience. There is currently a shortage of hybrid managers within industry.

The Department offers a limited number of scholarships for UK/EU students with outstanding academic track records.
