The Department of Geography is a dynamic and vibrant place to be a postgraduate student and we are proud of our reputation for creating a friendly supportive working environment.
We have over 25 academic staff who are all leading international experts in their fields. The Centre for Research in Identity, Governance, Society, for example, is a pioneering group conducting research that is informing government policy on student housing, alcohol policy and community cohesion.
More widely, the work undertaken in our Department spans the breadth of contemporary physical and human geographical research and deals with many of the most striking environmental, social and economic challenges facing our world, as demonstrated by the innovative programmes described in the ensuing pages.
