Occupational Health and Safety Management MSc/Diploma/Certificate (part-time, for working professionals)

MSc: 2-3 years part-time, Diploma: 1-2 years part-time, Certificate: approximately 1 year part-time

The Occupational Health and Safety Management programme is run by the Centre for Hazard and Risk Management (CHaRM). CHaRM is a multidisciplinary centre with over 30 years’ expertise in providing university-accredited qualifications in the management and control of risk.

Our students are experienced professionals wishing to extend their academic qualifications or obtain vocationally relevant awards. Past students have come from a wide variety of backgrounds and employment sectors.

The programme develops the knowledge and understanding of practitioners and is specifically designed for people in industry and regulatory authorities. It takes a broad view of management responsibilities and requirements in the respective subjects, integrating science, engineering and technology with policy, legislation and management control.

Teaching includes intensive one-week modules at the University and some distance-learning. Candidates who are awarded the Diploma will fulfil the academic requirements for corporate membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
