The programme provides comprehensive and detailed training in a variety of methods of both qualitative and quantitative research.
It has been designed to equip students with a wide range of transferable skills that are relevant not only to postgraduate research, but also to a variety of jobs in the private and public sectors.

Assessment
Coursework plus a 30,000 word dissertation on an agreed topic.
Entry Qualification*
Applicants are expected to have a good first degree in any subject other than business or management. Normally we would expect at least an upper second class honours degree, but applicants with other qualifications will be given due consideration.
Selection
Based on application form and proof of qualifications. References are required, as well as a research proposal, and form an important element in the selection process. Applicants based in the UK will normally be invited for an interview prior to an offer being made.
Careers and Further Study
Students will be highly qualified for either a further research degree or a career in a research-oriented
organisation such as market research, consultancy or survey design and analysis. Students studying through the 1+3 route will receive the MRes qualification after the first year, subject to satisfactory completion of the programme.
