Management & Leadership (Higher Education Administration) MSc/Diploma (part-time, for working professionals)

Diploma: 18 months part-time, MSc: 12 months (from Diploma)

The Professional and Management Development Centre (PMDC) offers experienced managers within HE the opportunity to gain recognised university qualifications with the Postgraduate Programme in Management and Leadership: Higher Education Administration.

These experience-based programmes are structured to allow maximum flexibility in both content and delivery. In this way, training objectives are developed to reflect the needs of today’s higher education environment and provide specific training relevant to the institution.

The Diploma in Management and Leadership (HEA) can lead to the MSc or The Loughborough MBA, and is part-time, taught in two- and three-day blocks with some distance-learning. The MSc extends the programme by 12 months, is available to all students who complete the Diploma and comprises a major project in a work-related area of the student’s choice, supervised by a member of the School.

Holders of the Diploma may be granted exemptions on The Loughborough MBA.

Compulsory Modules: Diploma

The programme commences with a one day induction event.

Diploma candidates are required to complete all compulsory modules. MSc candidates are required to complete the Diploma stage, plus the research project.

Assessment

Modules are assessed by work-based projects, MSc by a supervised project.

Entry Qualification*

Significant managerial experience within a higher education (HE) environment at a middle management level or a first degree. Holders of the AUA Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice who wish to Progress to Diploma and Masters are eligible for exemptions.
