Your first days
Joining a club or a society is a great way to meet likeminded people and to make friends who have similar interests to you. All of the clubs and societies will have stands at Freshers’ Fair, so we encourage new students to pop along to see which clubs and societies tickle your interest.
There are over 100 different societies for our students to join. To view the full list of societies please click here.
Athletic Union Clubs
There are 55 different clubs which our students can join. If you have a passion for a particular sport and you want to continue to pursue it at competition level then joining a club sounds like the best thing for you to do.
You can view the full list of Athletic Union Clubs here.
For students who want to try a new sport or pursue sports recreationally we run a number of different sporting events especially for you.
We have over 34 ‘turn up and take part’ activities and classes on offer every week - all of which are completely free.
No need to book, simply pick an activity, turn up and play. It’s that simple. View the activity timetable here.
If you love a bit of friendly competition then our intra-mural sports will be right up your street. Halls go head to head – taking part in a number of different sporting events - in a bid to see which hall is victorious.
It’s a great way to meet new people while keeping fit. More information can be found here.
