Who are our ambassadors?
Maitrik is an International student from India, studying his Masters in Sport Coaching.
The most enjoyable aspect of working as a Student Ambassador is the personal connection that is made with student-applicants in a matter of minutes.
Being an international student, I was conscious of the task of moving so far away from home; but everything was alright because of the help I received from the people here. The notion of helping prospective students in many ways convinced me to become a Student Ambassador.
My skills development:
- Professional attitude: The first work that I undertook as an ambassador was an international calling campaign. I had never done work like this and was nervous before the first call. However, I dialled, spoke to the student and enjoyed the conversation. Thereafter, I have spoken to many students. Although these interactions are a pleasure, I have to maintain a professional attitude.
- Interpersonal Skills: Chatting with students and parents and answering their questions on different levels has helped me understand the varying perceptions of different people during an interaction.
- Motivational/Inspirational: By sharing my personal experiences with students, I have motivated them to look forward to attending the University despite their financial obligations.
The work is motivating, engaging, and fun. Go for it!
