Who are our ambassadors?
Charlotte recently graduated in Social Psychology and worked as a Student Ambassador only during her final year.
I have enjoyed talking to prospective students about the joys of being a student at Loughborough. Not only is it interesting to be able to have a job centred around interacting with other people, but each shift has reminded me just how lucky I have been to be here.
I wanted to contribute back to this university that has given me such support and opportunities; entering a job that allowed me to honestly express my love of the university was very appealing.
My skills development:
- Interpersonal skills:Through leading guided tours and answering questions for prospective students and parents, I have learnt that a smile and open body language goes a long way.
- Team work skills:As a student ambassador, each job centres around working as a team player, this meant that it was essential to listen carefully to instructions, to ask questions of other team members and to communicate regularly.
- Time management skills:As the job is on a sign up basis it was important to plan my week, to make sure I was balancing work with education and that there were no overlaps in my schedule.
It is a job that is well worth your time, I would highly recommend it. It will definitely make you reflect on why you are at Loughborough University, what you love about it and give you chance to develop a range of skills.
