Research that matters at the Loughborough Research Conference
January 3, 2012
Staff and students are invited to attend the Loughborough Research Conference taking place on Tuesday March 6.
Themed Research that Matters, the event is open to early career academics, research staff and postgraduate researchers from across campus, who can use the event to showcase their work, network and build collaborative links.
More than 200 participants are expected to attend the conference which includes various workshops and sessions throughout the day and a selection of speakers who are leading researchers in their fields of expertise.
Keynote speakers include David Sweeney, director of research, innovation and skills at the Higher Education Funding Council for England, and Professor Sir Michael Brady, BP Professor of Information Engineering in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford.
Kathryn North, Research Staff Development Officer, says:
“We believe the best researchers are often those who have a broad view of research, rather than simply focussing on their own, narrow discipline. This conference aims to encourage that belief among researchers and provide an accessible platform to share their ideas.”
Participants can also enter into poster and photo competitions, based on the theme My Research Matters, which will be judged during the conference.
