Loughborough Lightning to enter development team into the Secure Trading 24/sevens series

With pre-season in full swing, Loughborough Lightning can now confirm that they will enter a development side in the upcoming Secure Trading 24/Sevens Series Finals which takes place in Bath on Saturday July 28th.

With just over a month to go until Lightning get underway in the Tyrrell’s Premier 15s competition, the sevens competition will provide the side with a perfect opportunity to give some of its new or younger players crucial game time ahead of the 2018/19 season.

“It’s a great event and comes at a perfect time within our pre-season schedule for us to see how our younger players are developing and what they can bring to the side”, commented Head Coach Rhys Edwards.

“We have some fantastic players coming through the Loughborough College set up with the likes of Jess Weaver and Hollie Baldwin having developed massively within the last year and are now looking to snap up spots in the first team next season. Personally, I am also excited to see some of our new players, such as England International Jo Brown who joins us from Darlington, have a run out in the Lightning strip before the start of the 15’s season.”
