The third stage of the Waste Hierarchy is to RECYCLE to ensure that the maximum life is achieved from each resource. Recycling has been around for a while now and although each council has a different way of doing it, we should all be accustomed to doing it at home and therefore be able to also do this on campus. As an employee, student or tenant of the University, which has a legal obligation to apply the Waste Hierarchy, you are also obliged by the same obligation. Over 75% of waste is recyclable with little effort and recycling bins are common place across the campus.

To help you manage the waste produced on campus and recycle as much as possible we have produced a series of Waste Guidance Notes. If you cannot find a solution for the item you wish to recycle or dispose of please contact us and we will advise you.
