Development for your role

All staff groups are invited to check out our course directories by topic. The following information may be useful for you to consider.

Intern Development Programme
2017 - 2018

Do you have a new Graduate Intern who would like to take part in this year's programme?

If you have appointed any interns for this academic year, we would like to encourage them to take advantage of this year’s programme.

The first session will be on Thursday 26th October 2017 and we would like this opportunity to be available to all interns.

What is the programme?

The Intern Development Programme is designed to support all Loughborough University graduate interns in making the most of your employment here in regards to your future career management and your skills development.

We want you get the most out of this year so we will provide you with an opportunity to create your own support network with each other, as well as offering you expert support and guidance.

What does the programme cover?

The Programme will consist of three full development days spread across the year.

The programme will include helping you to recognise the skills you are learning and developing, give you CV advice, provide an awareness of the importance of employability skills and networking opportunities. There will be the opportunity to use career management tools, have guidance on careers and advice on using social media to market yourselves to employers.

There will be application and interview advice, including mock interviews, and guest speaker slots from senior members of staff across the University.

All interns will be encouraged to maintain a learning journal throughout the year, which will enable them to reflect on their learning and actively record the successes and development as you work.

How many?

Please could you let us know if you would be interested in your interns attending the course, so we can be aware of numbers in advance.

We appreciate that they will not be able to sign up until they start, but we would like to plan to see how many we can expect.
