How we work
As an Advice Service we are members of AdviceUK who require us to meet certain standards in order to retain our membership. To meet these standards we have to have a Code of Practice, confidentiality policy, insurance and have a seperate steering group.
Code of Practice and Confidentiality
The Code of Practice gives us strong boundaries within which we work. We would encourage you to read the document so you can understand the Aims and Principles of our service, and our confidentiality policy.
The Code of Practice has brought together all of our policies into one place. We have had to consider all of our stakeholders when writing this document, the main ones being the students, AdviceUK, UKCISA, OISC, other university departments, and the Home Office, ( in relation to the University’s Tier 4 Sponsor Licence). Some of these stakeholders have conflicting interests and so we have endeavoured to balance these conflicts to the best of our ability.

If you require a printed copy of the document, please get in touch with us.
To help us with this fine balancing act, and to further our aims, we have formed a Steering Group, who include representatives from many of our stakeholder groups. We are always looking for new members to add to this group, if you are interested please contact us.
