Suggestions and Feedback

The University Library welcomes suggestions and comments about all the services we offer. We undertake to investigate each issue raised and to provide users with a considered response.

Please note that the Library may publish the replies given to any queries raised, but will respect the confidentiality of the individuals concerned.

The Library's User Services Group reviews our suggestions procedures on an annual basis at the first meeting of the academic year to ensure that the policies and procedures in place are fit for purpose.

Ways to comment or make suggestions

If you wish to comment or to suggest a service improvement, you may use any of the following ways:

By using Ask a Librarian, the Library's electronic enquiry service

Ask a Librarian exists to answer both information enquiries and any comments you may wish to make about the quality of our service. You will normally receive a reply within one working day

By contacting your Academic Librarian or Library Liaison Officer

Each school has its own Academic Librarian and Library Liaison Officer who will be able to provide help and assistance.

By telephone

If you have any comments on the Library service, please ring (01509) 222353 (Mon - Fri 9:00am - 5:30pm) and you will be transferred to an appropriate member of staff to deal with your comment or complaint. If your query relates to your loans, you may wish to contact the Library Issue Desk directly on (01509) 222361.

By speaking to a member of staff at a service point

They will try to resolve your query there and then but, if necessary, will refer your comment to another member of staff who can deal with the issue. If an answer cannot be given immediately, you will be contacted about the matter within the next two working days.

By completing a Library suggestion card

Suggestion cards are available from the pillar to the right of the staircase to L4 in the middle of Level 3 of the Library. Completed cards should be placed in the suggestions box on Level 3.
