Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for early and mid-career PGRs.
Course Overview
This course explains how and why PGRs must comply with UK Copyright law when writing and submitting their thesis. It will also highlight the importance of retaining your own copyright when publishing your research outputs.
Intended Learning Outcomes
Participants will be able to:
- Explain the basic facts of UK copyright and how it relates to your thesis
- Recognise the importance of complying with UK copyright law both in your thesis and other publications
- Know how to seek copyright permission
- Recognise the need to retain copyright when publishing

This session is recommended for all early and mid-career postgraduate research students and relates to the Researcher Development Framework's Domain C1 - Professional Conduct and Domain D2 - Communication and dissemination.
