New year, new website

Over the Summer, Library staff have been working with colleagues in Creative and Print Services to redevelop our website. We gathered feedback from our users about what they did and didn't like (hence the lack of orange now) and have created a whole new website to support our users.

So, what is different? Well, the most obvious difference is that the website is now segmented so that we can target the relevant information at different types of user: students, staff & researchers, visitors/alumni and users at our London campus. Hopefully this will mean you can find the information you are interested in more easily than before. It is also a "responsive" site so can adapt for use on all types of device - whether it be a PC, tablet or smart phone. Hopefully this will make things easier when you are on the move.

Other changes include:

  • New sliding feature boxes at the top with dots so you know how many are there rather than having to wait for them to rotate
  • We have placed our Library video on the homepage so you can see what services we offer
  • There is a new staff listing with photos of the key Library contacts - if you want to know what Matt the Librarian looks like you can do now (although he's not sure it captured his "good side")
  • We have revamped our workshop listing so you can find the ones that relate to you by filtering the workshops
  • We have updated information on all the pages to make sure it is current

We will be making minor tweaks over the next few weeks once we can see it in action, but we would love to hear what you think about it in the meantime. just let one of the staff know or email Matt, the User Services Manager (M.S.Cunningham@lboro.ac.uk)
