Male member of staff

Whether you need to discuss issues such as a career change or end of contract concerns; you want someone to take a look at your CV or an application; or you just need some quick advice, our dedicated service, specifically for research staff, has been set up to support you.

The Careers Network also run a series of workshops that are designed specifically for research staff. Topics include career planning, job applications, interviews, networking and more.

Connections to build your career

Careers Network can provide you with access to a database of Loughborough Alumni, doctoral graduates and past research staff who can help you with your career decision making.

Individuals on the database may be able to help you with information and advice about their profession; an insight into their organisation; or provide advice on getting a job in their area of work.

Whatever stage of your career you're at, contact with Loughborough graduates and past research staff can be very beneficial when planning for your future.

Mentoring scheme

A vital part of the development provision offered to our research colleagues is mentoring. Our successful mentoring scheme has been running for five years, and offers a bespoke service where you are given one-to-one time to benefit from impartial, non-judgmental support to develop yourself or your career.

Further information and application/registration forms can be found on the Research Staff Development webpages.

Networks and Associations

There are a number of networks for research staff to join, including the Research Staff Association, who aim to provide researcher-led opportunities, represent research staff on committees and influence University policy, and facilitate and support training and career development.

Events and workshops provide information to members on areas such as engaging with the media, HR issues and research specific opportunities.
