First Aid, AED, Accidents and Incidents

It is the law that certain accidents and incidents are reported under (RIDDOR) Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences.  The Health and Safety Service provides advice, information and training on the Reporting of Accidents and Near Miss Incidents.

The university has over 300 trained first aiders across campus who are able to deal with any accidents which require first aid.  In addition to this, Automated External Defibrillators (AED) are sited at a number of locations with trained persons who are able to respond to a suspected cardiac arrests.
