Key dates

As well as being used during term time by staff and students, there are often a great many visitors to campus each week.

Coronavirus and the national lockdown resulted in many events and activities at the University being cancelled, but as restrictions are gradually being lifted activity on campus is slowly resuming. 

The table below attempts to summarise the dates where campus is expected to be particularly busy. 

Additional traffic on campus and on routes surrounding campus can be anticipated on these days and local residents and visitors are recommended to plan additional time for their journeys.

  • Wednesday 16 September - Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences (including Human Biology, Biosciences and Psychology)
  • Thursday 17 September - Engineering and Science
  • Friday 18 September - Social Sciences and Humanities, Design and Creative Arts 
  • Saturday 19 September - Business and Economics

  • Autumn term starts: 5 October
  • Autumn term ends: 18 December
  • Spring term starts: 11 January
  • Spring term ends: 26 March
  • Summer term starts: 26 April
  • Summer term ends: 25 June

Due to the coronavirus the summer graduation date has been pushed back to the week commencing 12 April 2021.

The winter graduation ceremony at Loughborough will take place on 14 December 2020. The Loughborough University London ceremony dates will be published shortly.

Sporting events on campus have currently been postponed.
