This section includes up-to-date visa information for students from the European Economic Area, students from outside of the European Economic Area and for employers looking to recruit international students.

There is detailed information available about restrictions on working during your studies and also the range of immigration schemes if you would like to work in the UK after you graduate.
Free Immigration Solicitor's Advice
International students can access free legal advice from a leading solicitors firm specialising in immigration law. Appointments are available for students, researchers and employers to discuss job related immigration queries.
Appointment priority will be given, in the following order, to selected students and researchers who are in the recruitment process with an employer (e.g. Tier 2 General applications):
- Students in discussions with an employer about a job application, job offer/interview or graduate entrepreneurs (Finalists, Master’s and PhD Students).
- Employers wishing to employ non-EEA students or researchers under Tier 2 General visa.
- A complex work-related immigration query which is not covered by the guide (above) Working in the UK after your studies.
- Research staff with a job offer/interview.
Free one-to-one immigration solicitor appointments, where you meet a solicitor in person for immigration advice related to job applications, is available twice a year in April and November. Places are limited, so please apply as soon as possible.

Over the telephone
Free one-to-one immigration solicitor appointments, where you can speak to a solicitor on the telephone for immigration advice, is available, at any time of the year, for students, researchers and employers who meet the eligibility criteria above.
