Access careers help

The Careers Network team is dedicated to helping you make the most of your Loughborough experience. We provide a wide range of easy-to-access information, advice and opportunities to support your Loughborough journey, helping you to develop skills and your future career prospects. We offer a range of services for Undergraduates, Postgraduates, Research Students, Graduates and University Staff. Please see below the range of services available to you.

You can find a wealth of information on our website to help you get started with your career planning, research and applications. We would recommend you take a look at the relevant sections prior to making an appointment.

Lectures, workshops and events

LECTURES, WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS:

For all students: Our suite of lectures and workshops will help you develop your skills and employability. Topics include:

  • CVs, covering letters and application forms
  • Interviews and assessment centres
  • LinkedIn and more

Department specific: The careers team for your school deliver degree specific workshops and lectures titled "My Loughborough Journey" for each year group.

Employer events: See employers throughout the year at presentations, careers fairs, drop ins and more. A full list of employer events can be found here.

How to book: For My Loughborough Journey lectures, please check your timetables and emails, for all other events, search and book on Careers Online.

Appointments for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students

CAREERS HELP POINT: 5-10 MINUTES

Description: a drop-in service where you can ask short careers-related questions.

Availability: Monday to Friday 9.30-16.30.

Booking method: No booking necessary, just come to Careers Help Point, Ground floor, Bridgeman Building.

 

QUICK ADVICE: 15 MINUTES

Description: 2 types of appointments; any careers related query or CV, letters, applications forms or interviews etc.

Availability: Monday to Friday 9.30-16.30, bookable on the day.

Booking method: Book online using Careers Online  or telephone 01509 222039.

 

CAREER CONSULTATIONS: 30 MINUTES

Description: An in-depth discussion with a Careers Consultant about your career. You do not need to have a career in mind for this appointment.

Availability: Monday to Friday 9.30-16.30. Bookable in advance.

Booking method: Telephone 01509 222039 or at the Information Desk, Bridgeman Building.

 

MOCK INTERVIEWS: 30-60 MINUTES

Description: Practise your interview technique with a Careers Consultant  (you must have a confirmed employer interview before booking.)

Availability: Monday to Friday 9.30-16.30, Bookable in advance.

Booking method: Telephone 01509 222039 or at the Information Desk, Bridgeman Building.

 

EMAIL ADVICE: SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES ONLY

Description: Careers related questions for graduates, those on placement or those not in Loughborough

Duration: We will respond to you within 5 working days

Appointments for Postgraduate Researchers

CAREERS HELP POINT: 5-10 MINUTES

Description: 20 minutes with Eve Uhlig to check CVs, letters and applications or answer quick queries. 

Availability: Mondays and Tuesdays.

CAREER CONSULTATIONS: 30 MINUTES

Description: 45 minutes to discuss any career-related issues. 

Availability: Mondays and Tuesdays.

Booking method: Book in person or telephone 01509 222039.

INTERVIEW COACHING

Description: 45 minutes to practise your interview technique and receive feedback.
