First Learning and Teaching Conference a success

Over 150 colleagues from across the University came together to celebrate teaching excellence at this year’s conference, hosted by the Centre for Academic Practice.

The keynote address was given by Professor Andy Westwood who drew on his time in varied roles within government to deliver an informative and entertaining account of teaching quality.

Workshops delivered by last year’s Teaching Innovation Award (TIA) winners encouraged participants to consider aspects of their teaching practice and showcased a variety of ideas which had been helped by TIA funding.

During the Conference, the Vice Chancellor presented a number of teaching awards including the Research Informed Teaching Awards and the 2016 Teaching Innovation Awards.
