We are happy to support you, as researchers, in developing your teaching skills related to teaching that you carry out as part of your duties at Loughborough. Please see the University Teacher Policy Information for further details about teaching opportunities for postgraduate researchers.
There are two levels of support for developing your teaching skills.
Essential Teaching Skills
It is compulsory to undertake the “Essential Teaching Skills” course (provided by the Doctoral College) before you undertake any teaching at Loughborough. Please use the Doctoral College Course Booking System for dates of future courses and to book a place.
Recognition of Teaching for Researchers (ROTOR)
This scheme will support you, via a series of workshops and a writing retreat, to assemble an application for the award of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), which is recognised across the UK Higher Education sector. Further details can be found on the ROTOR page.
