As a University Assessor you play a critical role in supporting colleagues to develop their teaching practice, as well as making an important contribution to sustaining Loughborough’s reputation for high quality teaching. You have been selected as a University Assessor because of your commitment to, and excellent track record in, teaching.
Your work as a University Assessor may involve you in conducting teaching observations for the following:
- Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) as part of probation requirements
- Associate Teaching Programme (ATP)
- Bought-in Teachers.
The following document provides a common reference point for all University Assessors undertaking teaching observations:
See also: Teaching Observations.
As a University Assessor you offer a further source of valuable feedback to those colleagues who have submitted Teaching Portfolios as part of an accredited course (NLC or ATC). Although Teaching Portfolios will have been fully assessed and internally verified by Centre for Academic Practice staff, University Assessor input provides an additional dimension in the teaching quality processes.
