New academic probationers to Loughborough from January 2018 will follow the Academic Practice Taught Course which leads to Fellowship recognition from the HEA. Any queries about this to Dr Sarah Turner: S.Turner4@lboro.ac.uk
The course supports Loughborough University’s Building Excellence strategy, in particular, it is aligned to the theme ‘Investing in our Staff’, so provides participants with the opportunity to develop and enhance their potential in relation to teaching, research and enterprise This is done in a supportive learning environment where you will be encouraged to critique and interrogate your practice within a culture of continual improvement.
The course is aligned to Descriptor 2 of the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF). For those on academic probation, completion of the course and gaining Fellowship is a requirement to gain a teaching qualification.
This is replacing the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP).
